The cultural center for Florence, Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts is a gallery, educational facility, museum, and a center for the coordination and promotion for cultural activity in the area. Held annually on the third Saturday of September, the Trail of Tears Commemoration & Motorcycle Ride begins in Bridgeport, AL and ends in Florence, AL. Follow and learn the history of the Trail of Tears. A celebration of Native American history with storytelling, demonstrations, arts, crafts, and food vendors, and three-day Pow Wow.
Huff 'N Puff on The Bluff is an annual race held on the first Saturday of March that finishes at the Sheffield Recreation Center. The USATF certified 15K (9.3 mile) course goes along the banks of the Tennessee River and through historic downtown Sheffield, Alabama.
