After being bored with Solitude, Carl Eugen started to build a new palace, Hohenheim, in 1785. After the duke's death, the building remained unfinished. Finally in 1818, it gave home to the newly founded Agricultural University. Nowadays, presents the main entrance of the Agricultural University. Here you will find more than 1000 conifers and deciduous trees from all over the world; some were planted nearly 200 years ago. They all have their name-plates in the botanic as well as in the exotic garden. If gardens aren't enough to tickle your fancy, the school's Balkonsaal sees a number of events throughout the year.
