Formerly called the Historic Everett Theater, New Everett Theater is known for being one of the oldest and most esteemed theaters in Everett. Everett Memorial Stadium was opened in 1984 and is home to the Aquasox minor league baseball team. It is also home to the Puget Sound Festival of Bands, which is an annual marching band contest. The stadium has a capacity of 3882 people and is usually packed for the baseball matches held here. It is also used for athletic events like football, soccer and track meets, hosted by Everett public schools
At a seating capacity of up to 10,000, Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center may not be the biggest arena in the country, but it does attempt to look better than the average giant block that most arena's are modeled after. The large windows of the entrance make the building appear lighter and more welcoming, as opposed to the heavier, more oppressive feel of standard arenas. Though once inside, the drab, standard architecture takes over. Comcast arenas raison d'etre is to house fantastic, over-the-top productions, along with the masses of people who will pay to see them, and in this, it succeeds.
Managed by the Village Theatre company, the Everett Performing Arts Center is the theater company's home in Everett. The Village Theater hosts wonderful live events, and the Everett Arts Center provides for a perfect venue for theatrical performances. With a seating capacity of 500, the arts center also boasts of a high-tech sound and lighting system. The multipurpose theater stage hosts musicals, concerts and dramas alike.
Located in and operated by the Everett High School in the city of Everett, the Everett Civic Auditorium plays host to a series of shows that span the gamut from dance and song to musicals. Edmonds Center for the Arts is also popularly known as the ECA theater. Drama, plays, musicals, and other such cultural activities take place with great enthusiasm. Edmonds was a high school and college which was later demolished in 2005 only to reopen as a fantastic center for performing arts in 2006. Crest Cinema Center in North Seattle has been in continuous operation since 1949. It has two larger and two smaller screens, showing second-run mainstream and independent films. It's a good deal and often the last chance to see some films on a big screen. Arrive early as shows often sell out, especially on weekends.
