Slipknot

Erie, PA 16501
The heavy metal band Slipknot wears masks when they perform, because, according to them, it helps draw attention from the themselves and focus it on the music. Whether this works or not, the whole mask thing has served as somewhat of a shtick or gimmick for the band and has attracted thousands of eager listeners. The group is widely considered to be one of the more prominent metal bands on the scene and with cast of eight musicians - including two percussionists, in addition to a standard kit drummer - compromising the band, it's no wonder why the group is so successful.
