Legendary 1980s hair metal band Styx has likely influenced the 21st century's generation of campy pop punk. Styx music was as much about the performance and theater as it was making rock anthems. Spanning over three decades of releases, Styx has settled into a role that relies on nostalgia, playing concerts packed with folks wanting to hear the early stuff. The fact that these guys have the confidence and energy to return to a different music industry shows that sometimes a passion for the rock and roll lifestyle is all you need to keep going.

Born in Arkansas, Justin Moore developed a strong relationship with music early in his life and by his junior year in high school, he was performing his own original country material. After graduating, Moor would go on to join his uncle's Southern rock band and move to Nashville in 2002. After gigging around for a while and networking, Moore met a young music impresario who was about to start a country music record label. Moore was quickly signed and his eponymously titled debut album was released in 2009 to fairly positive commercial and critical reception. Having since released more material and toured in support of it, Moore has garnered a fairly respectable fan base for himself.

The band rode the wave of its sudden success throughout the 1970s with album including 1974's Holiday, and 1975's Hearts. Though Peek quit the band in 1977 as America's popularity began to decline, Beckley and Bunnell continued on as a duo and eventually earned mainstream attention once again with the 1982 single "You Can Do Magic. America continues to release new music, including its 2011 studio album Black Pages, while performing worldwide with a new backing band.
