This scenic nine hole golf course is set in a wooded area and features large Bermuda grass greens and very narrow bent grass fairways. These factors combined with water hazards that come into play on three holes, makes this a tough course to play.
Lake Mattoon was created in the 1950s to be a water reserve and it's since become the perfect spot for recreational activities. Take a boat out and waterski along the shore. Try your luck fishing for bass and catfish. Enjoy a picnic at Lake Mattoon Public Beach. At 1,050-acres, there's a lot of room to enjoy the water.
Created in 1907 to help with the county's water supply, Lake Paradise is truly a paradise. You can take a boat out on to the tranquil waters of the reservoir, but there is no swimming allowed.
This city aquatic center offers fun for all ages. It features a frog slide, water slide, one-meter drop slide, wet playground area, sand playground area, concessions/food court area, shaded picnic area, bath house, several lap lanes and a diving board. The Aquatic Center opens for the season on Memorial Day weekend.
