Owned by Syracuse University, Drumlins Tennis Club is truly a haven for tennis lovers. The home ground for the University's women's tennis team, this club boasts of seven indoor courts and two outdoor courts, each well-maintained and equipped with up-to-date facilities. The club offers memberships and passes for people belonging to all age groups, and all of this comes with an extremely reasonable price tag.
More of an outdoors person? Then Thunderbirds is a place for you to be, with its 24 lane bowling arcade. One of the many bowling alley's in Syracuse, Thunderbird stands apart for having ample bowling lanes and for being value for money. The ambiance is relaxed but they always have a lively and enthusiastic crow. The food is good and moderately priced. You can also hold birthday parties and events here.
Along with lessons, pro shop and riding carts, this course features 18 holes and 6,081 yards of golf.
If you love nature, then a visit to Chittenango Falls State Park will be worthwhile. Based around a 167 feet (50.90 meters) waterfall cascading down a bedrock that's nearly 400 million years old, this parkland is indeed a beautiful sight to behold. View the gushing waterfall from the footbridge or just hike through the serpentine trail. You can also fish in this area. There are small picnic spots and pavilions across this park as well.
Mount Hope Reservoir started out as the first water source in the city. Not only was this the first ever swimming area in Oneida, but also the place from which water was used for drinking and almost all other needs. The site is now a city park stretching to 65 acres (26.3 hectares) and comprising of various activity facilities like fishing, biking, hiking and skiing.
