Practical Information

»East Haven

Records show its history dating back to 1638 when East Haven was bought by Puritan settlers from the local Quinnipiack tribe, though its existence might have been much before that. It was called the Iron Works Village due to the successful ironwork mill before it became a town in 1707. It is more known for its annual East Haven Fall Festival. It mostly has an Italian-American lineage and is a quaint place to visit. Some of the interesting sites are East Haven Town Green, General Lafayette Memorial, Shore Line Trolley Museum, Fort Nathan Hale Black Rock Fort, East Haven Historical Society, Old Stone Church and Farm River State Park.
