As lead singer for the New York garage rock revival outfit The Strokes, Julian Casablancas was the the epitome of everyone's idealized notion of what a front man should be. His rock star swagger and flippant attitude toward the music industry worked perfectly and cememted his place in rock history. In 2009, during The Strokes' hiatus, Casablancas released an album of solo material which is clearly influenced by a nolstalgic '80s electronic sound and is made up of more free-flowing songs than his hits The Strokes.
American country music singer, Brad Paisley, is a front-runner for modern country music. Known to frequently reference pop culture in his songs, his satirical nature adds extra flair to his country rock songs. Paisley's energy translates well into his live performances in particular; he's always got his crowd dancing on their feet to the slight twangy, pop sounds of his country music.
Nils Frahm (born 1982) is a German musician and composer based in Berlin. He has released solo material under his own name and also with several notable performers such as Anne Müller, Ólafur Arnalds and F.S. Blumm.
