Musée de la faïence or Museum of Pottery/Earthenware has a beautiful and interesting collection of fired clay. What started with a certain potter, Jean-Baptiste Bousquet, who moved from Saint-Zacharie in 1699, has been passed down from father to son to son-in-law to other potters to a little girl to a few more people until finally to Pierre Clement Caussy, who great;y influenced modern pottery. Located inside what was formerly the palace of the bishop, the Musée Départemental Breton documents the rich culture and history of this romantic French city. The museum has a collection of paintings and a range of artifacts which tell the tale of past riches. The museum also has a collection of folk artwork and other contemporary paintings that are very rare. Musée des Beaux Arts showcases the artwork of one of the greatest artists of all time - Meijer de Haan (1852-1895). He is known for the portraits of his friend Paul Gauguin. In his work he also depicted scenes from Amsterdam Jewish community, still-lifes, other portraits and landscapes.
