The home of Terrapin Athletics at the University of Maryland, the Comcast Center seats up to 18,000 fans for basketball, University and community events. The Center includes a large Academic Support Center for student-athletes, an attached 1500 seat gymnasium for the University's volleyball, gymnastics, and wrestling teams, and the Nextel Heritage Hall used for banquets, meetings, and press conferences. The name is an ode to the American poet Langston Hughes who started off as a busboy before becoming a famous writer. Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville is their fourth location and it opened its doors in 2011, becoming a popular meeting place for the locals. It is an amalgamation of art, politics and culture by regularly hosting live entertainment, poetry readings and annual rotating exhibits. There is also a book corner showcasing local authors featuring political, fiction to nonfiction books. This historic beauty designed in it's Colonial Revival architectural style is the Silver Spring Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Station. This station that was first built in 1945 is truly historic and stands still in it's beauty and significance. Featuring the waiting room of the 1940's, the furniture of the past, original lightings, etc. Also an underground passerby tunnel which connects the the two structures below the track are still into existence, but is not accessible to the visitors. The Railroad station is open to the visitors for tours.
