The A and M Entertainment Center in Houston is the ideal venue to host all sorts of events. Chung Mei Buddhist Temple was built in 2001 by the founder of the International Buddhist Progress Society, Master Hsing Yun. Yun also founded the Fo Guang Shan, which is an Chinese Mahayana Buddhist order, in Taiwan and this temple is the extension of the order's headquarters in Houston. The order developed through the 20th century and focuses on a Humanistic approach to Buddhism. The temple has a huge fellowship center that houses its main shrine, a museum, a library, classrooms and tea rooms. The main shrine of the temple is dedicated to Lord Sakyamuni Buddha, the Great Teacher of Buddhism and also houses the Medicine Buddha and the Amitabha Buddha.
