This pub is a nice, quiet retreat from the busy street outside. The decor comprises teak furniture and framed newspaper clippings for the most part. Old stories of sporting glory and political upheavals are featured in the old headlines. The staff are friendly and often willing to have a chat about this and that. During the summer, it's often nice to sit back with a pint and enjoy the musicians playing an old traditional air.
This roomy stylish bar is situated just off St Patrick's Street in Cork's main shopping area. It's frequently used for office parties and the like, offering a full late bar and food menu. It is also a good spot to watch a football match in comfortable surroundings; get there early and grab the leather couch. In the evenings, it tends to fill up quite quickly, as it's a convenient spot for a pint before heading out to a club. The odd karaoke session has been known to occur here, while live bands play regularly.
