Well known as the unique land of natural resources and a great place for educating oneself about nature, Henry N. Barkhausen Cache River Wetlands Center is an amazing place. Built in a way to protect the natural environment and to spread the idea of how to preserve the same through educating the people, and giving them a view of how the surrounding environment is preserved at this site. The site also offered recreational activities, museum, wetlands, hunting, hiking, fishing, watching wildlife, etc. where one can enjoy as well as learn.
Ferne Clyffe State Park is a marvelous place with many natural beauties that will make a nature enthusiasts think that this is indeed heaven. It spans 2430 acres (983.39 hectares) of the striking Shawnee Hills and features several campsites, seven picnic spots, 18 unique trails, equestrian trail and campground, and a huge lake. Check out the unique geological formations and waterfalls while walking through the pathways or the abounding flora and fauna. Fish on the banks of the lake which is home to the bluegill, channel catfish, redear and largemouth bass. There are specific zones for hunters as well. Whether it is hiking through the picturesque woodlands, fishing, picnicking, camping or hunting, you will enjoy the recreational opportunities offered at this park.
