Orpheum Children's Science Museum is housed in the historic Orpheum theater. The exhibits and programs at the science museum are curriculum based such that the child learns through observation. Various models, charts, diagrams encourage the scientific abilities in the child, developing in them, an interest for the subject and an aptitude to pursue it further. While other museums preserve ancient artifacts, this museum preserves the historical monument of Orpheum theater along with building new scientists that will help in the development of the society.
The museum is located in the oldest commercial building in Champaign County and offers exhibits which showcase more than 100 years of Champaign County's people, events, architecture, and lifestyles. Lectures, oral history, hands on learning events, and a strong educational program for school children are offered. The museum also has a gift shop.

The museum encompasses over 126,000 square feet of display space, boasting the largest aerospace museum in Illinois. The current museum features themes like the Baseball and Music, Women and Music, Technology and Music and several events. The Octave Aerospace Museum is known for being one of the largest aviation museums in the country. The museum features over 40 aircrafts, including a military fighter, and a cargo aircraft. It offers summer day camps including different programs for kids based on their age. The museum also conducts an annual air show that is a big crowd drawer.
Located in Sadorus, Illinois, the National Museum of Ship Models and Sea History aims to educate people about the contribution of ships to the modern world. The museum features about 250 ship models and replicas from a 27 feet (8.2 meter) model of the RMS Queen Mary designed out of one million toothpicks to a half-inch Chinese riverboat carved into a walnut. It also features ship models from movies like Cleopatra, Tora Tora Tora and Ben Hur. The museum is open by appointment.
