    Established in 1967, the Alan Chadwick Garden was initially called the Student Garden Project. It is now run by the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems of the University of California, Santa Cruz. This three-acre (1.21 hectare) organic garden has a great variety of flowers, vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. These include apple, citrus and pear, and heritage roses. Following the principles of its founder, this lush garden has set an example in organic horticulture.
