The renowned First Congregational Church in Iowa is located in Burlington. Finely-structured, it was constructed during the years 1867 and 1870. The building is a stellar representation of the Gothic Revival style of architecture. The journey of the church traces back to the heritage of the pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock in search of religious and spiritual freedom. Weddings can be planned in the sacred atmosphere of the church. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
