The Players Theater opened its doors in 1936 when the Players Association, a group of theater enthusiasts, decided to showcase local talent and bring forth the best act. The members managed to build a theater with a good lighting system then, making it suitable enough for a play. Later, however, the theater was refurbished twice and was acoustically upgraded and the seating capacity was increased too, making it grand enough to accommodate 500 at a time. Besides dramas, the theater also hosts workshops and literary events conducted by the association. Check website for details.
