Folsom Field is a stadium situated on the University of Colorado at Boulder's campus. Apart from being home to the Colorado Golden Buffaloes, it has been the venue of exceptional live concerts. Dave Mathews and the Rolling Stones have both performed here as well as many others. Folsom is also known as one of the twelve oldest stadiums in the country, and was originally named Colorado Stadium.
The Boulder Outdoor Cinema redefines going to the movies. Once a week during summer months, viewers set up lawn chairs and blankets on the green behind the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and prepare to make noise. The Mary Rippon Theatre is located in the campus of University of Colorado. This outdoor theater was established in honor of German and French professor Mary Rippon, a pioneering female instructor in universities across America. It has a seating capacity for 1000 visitors and overlooks stunning views of the mountains. An array of cultural events are hosted here. Their annual Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a big draw and is considered to be one of the best festivals in the nation.
eTown Hall is Boulder's answer to those who seek music, art, performance and overall well-being for the community. From radio shows to live performances and community endeavors like public gardens, alternative transportation and recycling, eTown seeks to provide a sustainable environment where the arts can thrive. This 40,000-square-foot performing and visual arts center is home to many of Boulder's theaters, dance and music production companies. Check out performances from the Colorado Dance Festival and Boulder Arts Academy, as well as concerts by the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. The studios of Boulder's award-winning Community Access Television are also housed in the complex. Frequent classes and exhibits are offered to the community. Ticket sales and private contributions fund the center which draws over 140,000 guests annually.
Since 1981, this stellar troupe of renowned dancers has amazed Boulder audiences with classical ballet. Led by artistic directors Ana Claire and Peter Davison, the company consistently presents fine ballet presentations like the "Nutcracker" and "Romeo and Juliet." Every year, it teams with the Boulder Philharmonic to present two memorable full-length productions.
