One of the several parks in Woodridge, the Lake Carleton Park is located a little to the north of the center of the town. Sprawled over an area of 17.20 acres (6.96 hectares), this park is built around the charmingly serene Lake Carleton. A favorite haunt among the locals, the Lake Carleton Park has facilities for picnicking, fishing, pedal boating, and seasonal ice-skating. The park also plays host to some community events. A magnificent set of 59 buildings come together in harmony, to constitute the Lockport Historic District. The monumental district stands located in the Lockport region of the U.S. State of Illinois. The year 1936 marked the platting of this historical district. It comprises of 56 buildings that contribute towards the historical integrity of the area. The district carries immense monumental value and has paved the way for its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
Located in downtown Naperville, the Knoch Park lies surrounded by three other parks. Maintained by the Naperville Park District, this park is home to several facilities, including a playground, baseball fields, softball fields, and tennis courts. The Knoch Park also plays host to some entertaining community events, like the Naperville Ribfest and more.
Located in downtown Naperville, close to the Naperville Amtrak station, the Central Park is a rather cozy little park. Spread over a modest 3.78 acres (1.52 hectares), this park may not be appointed with many facilities, but it still plays a prominent role in the local community's recreational scene. Equipped with a playground, a gazebo and a band shell, the Central Park is usually bustling with locals seeking a green respite. The park also plays host to community events from time to time. A popular recreational venue for the residents of Lisle, the Community Park is conveniently located in the heart of the city, a few feet away from the Lisle Metra Station. The 110-acre (44.5-hectare) park is home to a range of facilities, like a Community Center, an outdoor amphitheater, an aquatic park, four tennis courts, three soccer fields and a band shell. This park was created for the community's historic train deport and features an 1874 CB&Q railroad depot, an 1881 wooden caboose, a circa 1850's farmhouse, and a circa 1830's tavern and inn. Historic gardens and special exhibits are also on site and various educational programs are available.
Consisting of an area of 44.2 acres (17.9 hectares), the Lockport Powerhouse is a beautiful dam built in Federal style of architecture. Best known for power generation this powerhouse, is a National Historic Landmark. Access to certain areas are restricted for security reasons, but a visit to this place to watch the outer functions of the powerhouse is a great idea.

The Robert Vial House is a magnificent structure which showcases a mix of Italianate and Greek Revival style of architecture. It was built in 1856 and was used as a residence by Mr. Robert Vial. This house is considered to be the oldest farmhouse in the Burr Ridge community. Today, the house is operated as a museum by the Flagg Creek Heritage Society. It is open to the public from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m on first Sunday of every month from April to October. It is also open of most Thursdays of the year from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. However, if you wish to visit the facility at other times, a reservation is recommended.
