West Michigan Chapter AWMA Lunch & Learn Lecture Series Emergency Preparedness and Response   January 29, 2015   Often, addressing environmental incidents will highlight the need for an understanding and implementation of local emergency preparedness and response activities.  Jack Stewart, the Kent County Local Emergency Planning Coordinator, will discuss Emergency Preparedness.  The presentation will include a local history of emergencies and disasters, community impact, hazards and vulnerabilities, and types of disasters.  Kent Countys Hazard Mitigation Plan will be outlined, as well as preparedness measures that should be taken from personal, business, family, and community perspectives.  Response actions, including use of the incident command system, will be covered.  And finally, Mr. Stewart will provide information on volunteer opportunities, such as the Community Emergency Response Team, Medical Reserve Corps, and more.   FAQs   Is my registration/ticket transferrable? A veteran of the US Army, he didn't start his music career until 2000, when he released his eponymous debut album with Atlantic Records. After the label's Nashville branch closed down later the same year, Morgan went on to release his next three albums, including his most renowned effort, 2005's My Kind of Livin', with the independent label Broken Bow Records.

The Grand Rapids Symphony has brought musical excellence and creativity to the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1930. Music Director David Lockington leads the orchestra each year in eight different concert series, all designed to stimulate the imagination. The symphony is known for interactive and lively performances infused with pop culture, making concerts of both classical and contemporary music accessible to all audiences. The Grand Rapids Symphony is deeply invested in community engagement and holds its annual concert, "Symphony with Soul," to feature both local and national African-American artists. A portion of the proceeds goes into the "Young, Gifted & Black Scholarship Fund," a scholarship created by the Symphony in 2005 to support musical training for African American youth in Grand Rapids.

The Bowling Green Falcons represent intercollegiate sport programs and teams at Bowling Green University located in Bowling Green, Ohio. The university currently holds Division I standing as a member of both the Mid-American Conference and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Since 1921, the Bowling Green Falcons have won several titles and championships in football, men's and women's basketball, and ice hockey. The school's hockey team has produced several renowned professional athletes, such as Kim Murrow and Mark Wells, who helped the U.S. hockey team earn the 1980 Winter Olympics gold medal.
