The First Congregational Church of Berkeley was built on December 1, 1874. Every Sunday morning, people attend the Lectionary Bible Study with Charlotte Russell in the Durant House at 8.30a. At 10a, Worship in the Sanctuary lecture is organized for the public. And there is even a sermon for children. The church also manages a children's choir and adult education programs.
The Doe Memorial Library is located on the UC Berkeley campus and is adjacent to the Bancroft Library. The library is named after Charles Franklin Doe who had contributed majorly for the project. The construction of the library was completed in 1911 and it is an example of the Classical Revival style. This library was added to the National Register of Historic Places in March 25, 1982.

You will find yourself enveloped in a sense of calm from the moment you step through the doors. The temple is surrounded by a serene Japanese garden that has adapted and grown over the years. The pine tree by the fence is over 100 years old and lends its cool shade to the garden beyond. Following the tradition of Buddha Dharma, the temple teaches its followers to seek the wisdom that is attained through the inevitable suffering that life brings and fosters community spirit in each of its many members.
