This 40,000 square foot library serves as the main branch for the Deschutes Public Library system. It offers reading areas, study areas, a computer lab, public computer stations, and numerous programs.
Also known as the Old Bend High School Gym, this was once the cultural and recreational center of Bend. Inaugurated in 1919, the gym was dedicated to veterans of World War I. Consisting of three floors and a basement, the gym has an auditorium with a capacity of 1200, a lounge and library complete with lava rock fireplaces, a wrestling room, a caretaker’s apartment, a billiard room, lockers and shower. The building was renovated between 1995 and 1998 and re-opened its doors in 1999 as the Center for the Boys and Girls Club.

Founded in 1988, the first brewery in Bend produces handcrafted, traditional-style ales and lagers. You can tour the brewhouse and cellar, meet the brewers, and sample some of their fine ales on Saturdays, from noon until 4:00 p.m.
While driving northwards on Redmond's Southwest 77th Street, look to your right and you will spot a mini settlement made entirely of stones. This attraction known as Petersen Rock Garden, spread across four acres (1.6 hectares) of land, is the brainchild of Rasmus Petersen (1883-1952), a Danish immigrant. Petersen, an avid collector of rocks, used the rocks in the vicinity to replicate churches, monuments, castles, buildings, and bridges. This garden is located on his property, and since his demise has been managed by his family.
