Home of the Spring Street Players and the Colorado River Repertory, this award-winning community theatre was built in 1889 and is also the home of YouthTheatre, a children's theater. Family entertainment and quality theatrical productions are featured year round at this theatre.
The Kerr Community Center or the Kerr Hall as it is locally called, is a historic community venue that was a refuge for the Afro-American community during the period of racial discrimination in the country. It was constructed in 1914 and hosted cultural performances and social gatherings. It has two halls, each with a seating capacity of 65 that can used to host various functions. Outside, children can enjoy the playing area, complete with picnic tables, a basketball court and walking trails.
Movies, film contests, stunts, classes, and more in downtown Smithville. The Smithville Music and Film Commission is gearing up for their annual Reel Film Expo. All ages are invited to join as they host this interactive two-day event featuring stunt demonstrations, location tours, screenings, seminars, networking mixer, green screen acting, student film contest, and pechakucha. You never know which famous folks will be on hand to introduce their production. The Reel Film Expo is free to all attendees. Established in 2012, Circuit of The Americas is a premiere car racing circuit located in Southern Austin. The track features 20 turns and stretches to about 3.42 miles (5.51 kilometers), making it perfect for important car racing events like United States Grand Prix. The stadium features an observation tower, an amphitheater and a permanent grandstand.
