    Bass Harbor Head Light Station

    55 Lighthouse Road
    Tremont, ME 04653
    +1 207 288 3338 (Tourist Information)
Dating back to 1855, the Bass Harbor Head Light Station is located within the Acadia National Park. Easily accessible from the Bay Harbor, the lighthouse is the perfect place to unwind and listen to the sound of the tide, watch a spectacular sunset, or simply just enjoy an amazing view. The climb up to this picturesque location may be daunting for some as there are several boulders and steep steps but it is definitely worth the climb. The lighthouse is the private residence for the local coast guard, so tourists may be disappointed to learn that most of the grounds remain private, but there’s still a lot to enjoy as there is room to get close to the historic bell and light via a concrete path.
