    »Roy Wood Jr.

    September 18, 2014 8:00 PM

A certain "charismatic crankiness" is what drives Roy Wood Jr., according to "Entertainment Weekly". Wood, who currently stars as Roy on the TBS show "Sullivan & Son", got his start as a stand-up, appearing on "Late Show with David Letterman", "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson", "Chelsea Lately", Comedy Central, HBO's "Def Comedy Jam" and as a finalist on NBC's "Last Comic Standing". He's also released three albums of hilarious prank calls, which have been featured on national radio shows, including the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" and Jamie Foxx's The Foxxhole station on Sirius.

»Loudon Wainwright III With Special Guest Steve Poltz

    September 18, 2014 7:00 PM

Loudon Wainwright III has lived a full life as a musician and has even managed to play a somewhat minor role in the evolution of American music in the later half of the 20th century. He started playing guitar in the 60s, but after a move to San Francisco, to witness the then glorious hippie culture, Wainwright sold his instrument for a few yoga lessons. Later, after a move to Rhode Island, an old lobsterman convinced Wainwright to borrow a friends guitar and start writing. The pensive tunes that Wainwright created were greeted with great enthusiasm from listeners and after a move to New York, Wainwright managed to land a respectable recording contract in 1970. Since then he has managed to continually release critically acclaimed folk albums and he is still considered one of America's great musicians who's still able to tour.

    »Anybody Killa

    September 18, 2014 7:00 PM

Anybody Killa, often abbreviated as Abk, is a Native American rapper from Detroit. Abk's middle finger was cut off at a car factory while performing with his old group Krazy Klan. He decided to split from the group and go solo in 2000 with Rain From The Sun. Blending elements of his ancestors' storytelling skills and horror film references in songs like "Trail of Tears" and "Guilletine pt.2," Abk's voice is distinct because of his obvious lisp. Like the true juggalo that he is, Abk paints his face black, white and red, and wears a giant white bandanna that covers most of his forehead and brow.

    »Drive By Truckers

    September 18, 2014 8:00 PM

Like most alt-country acts on the scene today, the Georgia based group Drive-By Truckers believes in the undaunted power of analog recording equipment. The group employs no real synthesized instruments--in fact, the group has three guitarists--and when the band goes into the studio, it prefers to lay down its songs on two inch tape as opposed to digital recording methods, the industry standards. The nostalgic approach to song writing/recording that Drive-By Truckers employs is working to the group's advantage, however. The band has been a favorite of critics ever since it released its debut LP in 1998 and with a rousing stage show that highlights each member's instrumental prowess, Drive-By Truckers has proven to be one of the more rewarding alt-country bands to track.

»Mind’s Eye: Masterworks On Paper From David To Cézanne

    September 18, 2014 11:00 AM

From quick sketches to watercolors, works by artists such as Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Edouard Manet, Jacques-Louis David, Théodore Géricault, and Eugène Delacroix are brought together in the DMA-organized exhibition Mind’s Eye: Masterworks on Paper from David to Cézanne. Drawn from the Dallas Museum of Art’s collection, as well as from several private collections, the exhibition features more than 100 works on paper, many of which are rarely on view, in various media by 70 artists. Mind’s Eye offers new insights into the working methods and practices of these artists, providing an intimate view of their approach to art making while also presenting the drawings and watercolors as finished works of art in their own right.
