»Skånela Church

Belonging to the Archdiocese of Uppsala and popular as one of the 'oldest' surviving churches in the city is the Skånela Church. The church was built in 1160 and highlights a Romanesque style of architecture. Further changes to the structure were made during the 14th Century. A noted figure here at the church is the 16th-century carving of Madonna (Mary) out of wood. There are around 15 runestones tucked around the church's premises.

»Skepptuna Church

The Skepptuna Church is located in Märsta, Uppsala. This medieval church which dates back to early 1200 is built of stones and bricks. The structure gets its soft red color from the use of bricks and has whitewashed shields on the tower. The churchs magnificent altarpiece is its most noteworthy possession. The altarpiece is predominantly golden in color with an arrangement of various stages in the life of Jesus. The top most part of the altarpiece showcases a carved crucifix, Jesus carrying the cross on the left and Mary with dead Jesus on the right.

»Täby Church

Täby Church was built on the ruins of an older wooden church that stood on the site previously. The white-washed stone church was built in the 13th century and later additions were made to the existing nave and sacristy like the vestry and the porch. The porch ceiling is heavily decorated with beautiful frescoes, unfortunately the name of the artist was not known. The biggest attraction to the church is the nave of four crosses and the vaults which were decorated with paintings by the well-known painter Albertus Pictor. The most famous piece is that of a knight playing chess with Death that is said to have inspired the famous film by Ingmar Bergman, the Seventh Seal. »Angarn Church

Operational under the Archdiocese of Uppsala is the Angarn Church. There are no exact dates of the church's existence, however the presence of runestones in the vicinity trace the church back to the 1280s. The church's structure has works spanned across centuries- a 14th-century bell tower, a medieval doorway and more. The interiors comprise of an 18th-century altar and pulpit, and a ceiling with vaulted barrels; most of it part of the renovation that was carried out in 1795.

»Alsike Church

The Alsike church is located This whitewashed church replaced a wooden church from the 13th Century. The church's style is an amalgamation of neoclassical and medieval which can be attributed to a series of redevelopments in 15th and mid 19th Century. The interiors of the church are decorated by beautiful frescoes created in early 1900. A few notable possessions of the church are a figure of Christ from the 15th Century and a Venetian cross from 1600s. A runestone was found in the year 1947 and is now showcased at the entrance of the church.
