Old St. Teresa's Catholic Church is distinguished as one of the earliest Catholic Churches in Georgia. Its foundations were laid before the American Civil War and during the War, the incomplete structure was used to care for the wounded. On completion of its construction after the Civil War, the edifice was dedicated as a place of worship. In 1975, the church was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
