Founded in 1866 as the Keystone State Normal School, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania otherwise called as Kutztown University or KU is an esteemed institute. It consists of four streams - Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Education. Spread across 289 acres (116.95 hectares), this sprawling campus also includes the Pennsylvania German Heritage Center, Rohrbach Library, Schaeffer Auditorium, a planetarium, gallery, GLBTQ Center, radio station, an observatory and residences.
Established in 1826 and named after the great general of American Revolutionary War, Lafayette College is one of the leading liberal arts college dedicated to the complete development of the students. The college has more than 2000 students enrolled in various under-graduate as well as post-graduate programs in arts and engineering. Its main campus is spread across 230 acres (93 hectares) and comprises various structures like the main academic building Pardee Hall, the architecturally renowned structures of Kirby Hall of Civil Rights and the Skillman Library, the multipurpose Fisher Field at Fisher Stadium and many other facilities. Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church was established in 1829, and is one of the oldest places of worship in the city. The majestic church building was constructed from fieldstone, and sits in a lush area on the outskirts of the town. The adjoining cemetery traces its history back to 1775, and is one of the earliest burial grounds in the region.
