Offering five baseball fields, three softball fields, an archery range, a gymnasium, a horse-riding arena, swimming pool, football/soccer stadium, and amphitheater. The Veteran's Memorial, an antique fire truck, a picnic pavilion, and the Imagination Station playground are also part of the park.
The stellar Wind Creek State Park is a fine park site located in Alabama. It is accurately situated 7 miles south to the Alexander City. It encompasses a massive 1,445 acres (585 hectares) of land area. The site is an excellent avenue for camping, swimming, fishing picnicking and boating activities. It also provides for an array of playgrounds along with trails dedicated to hiking and equestrian use. Cliff jumping and geocaching are special features of this site.
This park is the most recent recreation facility to be added in the Lake Martin area. The park features a white sandy swimming beach, three large pavilions, 13 picnic tables with grills, two fishing piers, restroom facilities, and an amphitheater. The park is centrally located on the eastern side of the lake, about six miles west of Dadeville on Young's Ferry Road. The park is open from early spring through early fall.
This military park comes under the purview of National Park Service and was the site of the Creek War. Incorporated in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, you can avail the guided tours that take you through the park.
