The Chickasaw National Recreation Area is known for its vast water bodies, beckoning all kinds of water sport enthusiasts. With the Lake of the Arbuckles and cool water streams being the central attraction of the park, it is natural to find people canoeing, swimming and fishing in the park. Those not too fond of the water need not fret, as a number of hiking and skiing trails are available all over the park, in addition to camping and picnic areas.
One of Oklahoma's leading tourist attractions, this park features eight scenic miles where you can view and feed hundreds of exotic animals. There is also rides, an arcade, paddle boats, and a playground at this park which is located in Davis, OK.
Thousands of varieties of flowers are located at these gardens including a tropical garden, unusual geologic formations, waterfalls, and an arboretum.
A favorite local recreational spot since 1868, this park features a waterfall that cascades 77 feet to form a natural pool for swimming. You can also picnic, hike, explore caves, and camp at this park. Camping is first come, first serve - no reservations are accepted.
Open April through October, this marina features a full dock, fishing tackle, boating supplies, picnic areas, and boat storage spaces. Rentals including paddle boats and canoes are also available.
