This might be the oldest of its kind in the East Side of Houston. Located in the Second Ward, The White Swan Live opened its doors in 1948 and has featured some of the best rock and metal bands of the country. Apart from rap and hip hop, all other genres of music is played here.
DiverseWorks, sometimes spelled "DiverseWorks," is a non-profit, community-run center of everything art in Houston. Emphasis is on new, ground-breaking visual, performance, and literary art. Events that take place here include live music, cabaret, art receptions, and plays. This venue has two concert halls in one space. One of them is called The Ballroom, which has a capacity of 1500 and the other is The Studio, which can hold 150 people. Both have separate bars and restrooms, stages, sound, and lighting systems. The 1920's come alive in this Warehouse with leather sofas and strategically placed antique pieces. A lot of non-metered street parking is close by.
Opened in 1969, Hofheinz Pavilion was named after Judge Roy Hofheinz, a Houston politician, businessman and philanthropist and an alumnus of Houston University. The 8,500 seater pavilion is a multi-purpose arena on the University of Houston's campus. It is home to the University of Houston Cougars men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the women's volleyball team. Many concerts including performances by Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Steve Martin, BB King and many have taken place here.
The state-of-the-art Cullen Performance Hall is located on the University of Houston campus. Since 1948, it has been used for a myriad of events. These include music concerts, opera, modern dance and theatrical performances. Although the building underwent a complete renovation in 1988, it still retains its original charm. The box office opens two hours prior to shows.
When it was completed in 1905, The Corinthian was the tallest and most modern building in the state. Located in a neoclassical building, this beautiful venue still retains its old charm. Located within the premises of the spacious Discovery Green, the Anheuser-Busch Stage serves as an ideal outdoor venue for concerts, conferences, and corporate as well as cultural events. The wooden stage is well-equipped with light and sound facilities and is big enough to hold a large screen for slideshows as well as movies. The space below the stage is a tiled dance floor. Renting the Anheuser-Busch Stage will give you access to the Green Room lounge which consists of showers, two dressing rooms, toilets etc.
